Peek-A-Who

Description: A children’s simple, rhyming board book. Review: When I first purchased this book, I read through it and said, “That’s it? Where’s the rest of it!” I honestly didn’t think that it would hold S Dot’s attention. We read it to him once, and it didn’t have much of an effect on him. But, that is the perculiar thing about S Dot (or maybe most babies). There are some things he will try once and instantly fall in love, then there are things that will take numerous attempts before you can definitively say “he doesn’t like it”–and this has been the case with...

Hyland’s Teething Tablet & Aveeno Oatmeal Bath

S Dot broke out into a strange rash on his stomach and arms about a month ago. Actually, we are still racking our brains to figure out where it came from. We know it was not the detergent we use for his clothes, and he didn’t eat anything different from his normal meals. The only thing we can attribute it to are the Hyland’s Teething Tablets which we gave to him for the first time the night before the rash.  I will say that the teething tables seemed to calm him, but after seeing my babies skin, I couldn’t risk the rash getting worse, so we “quit it” with the teething tablets. I...

Moby Wrap

I am team Moby Wrap…my husband is too. At first, we tried carrying Shawn in something very similar to the Chicco and BABYBJORN Baby Carrier, but Shawn just seemed to slump lifelessly. He looked like dangling play-doh. It was rather sad!  Once he was about 8lbs. I went online to try to find something that held Shawn closer to my chest and swaddled him because I really didn’t like his arms and legs dangling.  I ordered my Moby right away; I read the instruction carefully and watched every instructional video that exist because we did not want to suffocate him. After a few tries I was a pro. It...

Baby Swaddle

I’m not an advocate for stealing, but if there is one thing I’m happy we left with after the delivery of our son Shawn, it was two of those hospital issued Baby Swaddles. You’ve all seen them. I swear those “red and blue striped” cloths must be the universal strait jackets for infants. Granted they were only able to contain the Monster for about three weeks, but until the end they were well worth it. Now, before Shawn Christopher was born, I thought I would never get the hang of swaddling him. We rented, the classic baby DVD The Quietest Baby on the Block (which I will review later). There...

Anti Monkey Butt Ointment & Powder

It may not be the sexiest name on the market, but Anti Monkey Butt products are miracle workers. Shawn had his first bought of “diaper rash” at about 7 to 8 months. I was horrified because in my mind I thought that because he was drinking breast milk exclusively, he would be protected. So, of course when I went to change his diaper, and he went berserk, I felt horrible–especially when I saw his tears. At the time, Shawn rarely shed tears (unlike the crocodile one’s he cries now). I took a closer look at his backside and it was raw! Seeing how much pain my baby was in, I was sick...
