Parents Don’t Get Holidays Off!

It has been a long f@#king week! Oh yeah, you better cover your ears because it’s about to get “diaper rash raw” in this joint. Traveling to see both sets of families during the holidays (long distance) with two infants and a toddler is enough to make any reasonable parent curse. S Dot (the two year old) has unlimited energy and his favorite word is “No!”, Old Man (the younger more menacing looking twin) was in a fussy mood because his twin brother (The Lion) was sick and therefore received more attention. Now Lion wasn’t your average “baby sick”…a few coughs and the sniffles. He was...

How Honest Are Parents?

I wouldn’t call my twins ugly, but let’s just say, “I pray they have a great sense of humor.” My family gets so frustrated when I say things like this, but in my heart-of-hearts my seven-week old twin boys are “interesting” looking. The Lion, the oldest by 60 seconds, is HUGE. He looks like a middle aged undisputed sumo wrestler who fell behind in his taxes. And, Lord don’t get me started on my Little Old Man. After you have changed them, fed them, burped them and rocked them while humming every song in the book, you would think that the natural progression would be for the baby to fall asleep, right? No. Babies defy logic. Believe me, when you have done all that you...

I’m Tired of Being Pregnant

My first pregnancy with S Dot could be considered a sweet dream compared to the experience I am having with twins. Sometimes I blame my attitude. Not a day goes by that I don’t question, “How the hell am I going to raise three boys?” I know, I know…this is a blessing. I should be happy, right? Well you tell that to my swollen hands, face, feet, ankles and legs. I look like a drowning victim. Tell that to the very active 5.5+ pound boys weighing down on my pelvis  with so much pressure it feels as if someone dropped kicked me in the vagina. Tell that to the sciatic...

A Mother On the Verge of Exploding

Have you ever been hit with so much bulls#$% you think, “I could write a book .” Well, that’s me. I created Mommy’s Open Diary in order to share my thoughts, clear my head and vent. The challenge is that life comes at you so fast that some parents struggle to find the time to tend to their own sanity. We go on auto-pilot because life doesn’t grant you a “time out” or a “do-over”. I’m serious, give me ten seconds and I can name at least 10 absolutely amazing mothers who are seconds away from exploding everyday. I swear, in their mind...
