Now as I prepare for the birth of the twins, I find myself thinking back to the delivery of my first child, S Dot. Before delivering my son, I asked every mother I knew, “How does child birth feel?”… and the clearest answer I received was, “imagine your worst menstrual cramps and multiply times 100”. Let’s just say that did not nearly detail what I felt. No matter how much you plan the unexpected will happen. You lay your clothes out for work the night before just to spend a hour the next morning trying to find your bra. Before leaving the house, you save an address in your phone’s GPS just to spend the next hour lost, in the car, trying to locate a signal; you pick out the perfect outfit for your son, rush him to his first preschool open-house and as soon as you park the car he throws-up all over his clothes and car seat.
